Step Pyramid, Tomb Level (Bottom) - Step Pyramid, Tomb Level (Bottom)...This is where the creatures get pretty tough, considering its a 1st to 3rd level adventure. Those familiar with the Lost City module will see similarities to the 4th and 5th level of the dungeon maps on this single level, I essentially kept the two level intact, but have merged them into a single level.

There are two "Boss" creatures on this level. The flooded treasure room is where I'm placing my version of the infamous Zargon...I'm using a different name, but he's going to be a 3rd or 4th level Solo Brute, with updated damage to fit the new charts. Xerthan is the creatures name and he will be in the deeper areas on the water in that large chamber, rather than placing them another 5 levels deep (in in the previous module were filled with ridiculously tough creatures).

The other boss is in the false tomb and is a scaled down version of a Banshee, which in the original module is what has caused the death of a number of my old players, so I'm attempting to keep the spirit and threat of that tomb alive with this creature.

The from the chamber next to Xerthan's lair will lead into a cavern system that will be populated with weaker Lizardman for the most part, and if the PC's hurry through this they will not have to deal with the tougher Lizardmen, which are on a hunting mission. The cave exit will place them about 100 yards to the south east of the pyramid.

I'm debating on a scenario where the Lizardmen are essentially slaves of Xerthan, and will actually be thankful to the players for the defeat of this tyrant...it seems that this will play nicer in a campaign scenario rather than dragging out the escape through a number of cave battles with weaker Lizardmen.
