Some changes and fixes to the site:
-
Gallery References: I now have the ability to add gallery references for any items in any gallery. Meaning, if an item resides in Gallery A, I can add a reference to Gallery B, so the item shows in both places. I felt this was needed, since some items can exist in more than one genre; such as post-apoc vehicles in both Sci-Fi and Modern. For items that are references, there will be a teal halo around them in the gallery grid (see the attached image),and hovering over one will show the canon gallery as a tooltip.
Image Also, when viewing the item detail, there will be a reference link below the title in the sidebar, clicking that will take you to the canon gallery.
- Bundles: Bundles are image collections that are closely related, such as the same airplane with color variations. Bundles allow you to download all items in the bundle with one click, while maintaining the ability to view each image at full size. Unlike Zip Collections, which only have a contact sheet that doesn’t really give you a good sense of the scale and detail of the images inside. Bundles aren’t a replacement for Zip Collections, the latter are mainly for collections of 10 or more related images. Bundles will only be used for smaller amounts, 9 or less.

When viewing an item in a bundle, you’ll see a new option in the sidebar info panel:

You can click on the bundle thumbnails to load the images one at a time into the main window. If you decide you like it, you can click “Download All”, the system will bundle the files into a Zip and open a download dialog. That way you don’t have to download each one individually. That’s it. Easy.

Site-Wide Search issue: There was a bug in the site-wide search page results. It was not only searching Title, Description, and tags, but also any HTML markup within the description that users can’t see. So you could get some unusual results. As an example: I searched the word “space” without quotes, and was getting results for shotguns, submarines and other stuff that didn’t have the word “space” in any of those fields. It turns out that style=”white-space” was in the markup. That bug has been corrected, now only sanitized text is used in the search.
As always, feedback is appreciated. Happy Gaming!
