Welcome to RPGMapShare.com, a place to share maps and mapping objects for any type of Role-Playing Game. The maps and objects are intended for use mainly with any of the various Virtual Tabletop applications, such as Battlegrounds or Maptool, but as long as you have a computer and a way to display images, you can use them for your games. We're about sharing here, so uploading of your own maps and objects is encouraged. Please follow the directions when uploading, especially regarding usage restrictions, and we'll all be happy. We'd also like to see you in the Forums, so stop by and say hi, tell us what types of games you play, how you use the images you've obtained here, etc. Enjoy! |

This site was created in order to help the Role-Playing community in general.
Creating maps for encounters and campaigns is one of the more time-consuming parts of GMing a game. My hope is that this site will help those GMs who don't have the time, ability, or inclination to make their own maps, and to give map makers who wish to share their work a place to do so.
This is also a place to discuss map-making concepts, some of which have already been brought forth in the forums. With discussion of this kind, Map-Makers and GMs can better coordinate their needs and desires for better role-playing experiences.
This site was put together by Jeff Alberts (aka Steel Rat), using free tools available on the web for just this purpose (Content Management and Group Collaboration).

Another question: Two maps on page 2 of the fantasy section, called 'Town1' and 'Windship' say "non commercial use" at the top, but say "usage: personal only" on the bottom. You might have changed the designation recently.
The reason I am asking is that I have assumed that we can use copies of maps designated "non commercial" or "non commercial and personal" as battlemaps on our site (which is not commercial), but that "personal only" would prohibit this. Anyway, they're both your maps, so we'll follow your direction and remove them if they're "personal only" or leave them up with credit to you as the artist.
PS: My offer stands for a bit of banner exchange. Now that iCon is over we'll have some room to put some other ads at the top of our main page.

I consider "Personal Only"
Submitted by Steel Rat on Mon, 04/14/2008 - 12:41pm.I consider "Personal Only" to mean any non-commercial use. So as long as you're not making a profit, put it anywhere you want, as long as that caveat remains with it.
They're not my maps, really, but defaulted to me when the original uploader hadn't logged in for over a year.
