Update Nov 28, 2023: All of the galleries have just about fully migrated. There are a few zip collections that still need to go in, manually. I’m not sure they were necessarily working on the old gallery, so no one is missing out for the most part. I’ll get those in soon.
Now comes the slog of entering titles and descriptions manually for the entire gallery. I did one set this evening over about 5 hours, 140 items. 8000+ to go. So you get some idea of what’s involved. If you follow my Discord channel, you know that I’ve been trying to migrate from the Piwigo external gallery to a WordPress internal gallery.
It’s been rough, but I’m making good progress. When finished, I’m hoping it will be a better option for all. There may not be as much information readily available for each image, but I don’t know how much that info is really used. That said, I’m trying to maintain as much info as I can.
There will be an easier way to upload files, and I will be notified when they occur. Notifications weren’t happening consistently with the current gallery.
